We can easily see that our concentration is disturbed when a French window or door is too close to a work table.
One can compare this to a work or dining table placed right in the middle of a passageway.
For a small apartment which didn't offer the possibility of creating a wall or partition, I placed a hanging as a decorative piece near the
table. It protected the corner where the table was placed in a passage of "qi" (energy), between the French window or door. The ability of my
client to concentrate was immediately increased.
It is equally easy to feel that when one's back is toward a wall rather than an open area, one feels protected and more at ease.
One cannot feel completely at ease when one's back is toward a door where someone can enter without warning.
Or, as well, one feels more at ease in a room which has mobiles and decorations that in an empty room. And the opposite is true - one feels
stiffled in a room over-crowded with objects.
The richness or poverty of our furnishings influences our state of mind.
